X Games 3D: The Movie
So, we are on week two of 85+ temperatures inside of our house and Dennis and I are too cheap to buy air conditioners! Honestely, we figure that the heat wave will break the minute that we buy one so we just keep waiting for it to cool off. In the meantime, Danny spends all of his time at home wearing just a diaper and poor Cameron is constantly sweaty. So, today, Dennis and Cameron went in search of A/C and found it in the movie theater. Cameron got to go to his first movie - X Games 3D: The Movie.

WARNING
This is what happens when you let your three year old watch the X Games. Cameron got a surprise in the mail from Uncle Vince this week (Aunt Lizzie disclaims any involvement!) and he's been having a blast with his new skateboard. Don't worry, he isn't actually falling down - he staged the whole thing. Apparently, after watching the X Games, he's convinced that the point of skateboarding is to fall. And about 10 minutes after he got the skateboard, I found him standing with it on a bench in our backyard. When I asked him what he was doing, he said that he had to learn how to jump!!

A Busy Two Weeks
So, it's been almost two weeks since I updated the blog and we have been rather busy enjoying the summer . . .
Here's a little video clip of Cameron catching one of his first waves on a boogie board. He LOVES the ocean!
Is this how big brothers play/ torture little brothers?
Grammy and Aunt Catherine came to visit!
Okay, do you all remember the slip and slide? When we were little, the whole point was to see how far you could slide on the grass at the end but now there is a little pool/bumper to prevent that. It didn't stop Cameron from having fun though!
We think Daniel might be a Cubs fan!

On the Same Page?
Dennis and I will be celebrating our 7th anniversary next Monday and, while I love my husband dearly, sometimes we just aren't on the same page. Earlier this morning, Cameron was in the backyard with Dennis while Dennis was doing some yard work. I came down the stairs to find Cameron at the back door, asking to come in and throw something away. I asked him what he needed to throw away and looked down to discover a plastic bag in his hand. Cameron responded that he needed to come in the house to throw away Chico's poop. At this point, Dennis, who had been on the other end of the yard with his back turned to us, turns his attention to us and says simply, "he wanted to see it." Yes, that explains why you would give a three year old an open bag of dog poop!
Cape Cod
So, I went on a "blind date" about two years ago and met a running partner who was interested in training for a marathon while pushing a jogging stroller. It turned out to be the best blind date I ever had. Cameron made his first real friend, Britten, and I made a wonderful friend Gail. They were not only our running buddies, but we also hung out at least a couple of times a week while we lived in San Diego. We truly miss them. However, last Monday, we got to spend the entire day with them! Gail and Gavin are originally from Connecticut and they came out East for a vacation. They were spending a few days up at Cape Cod so we crashed their vacation for a day and had an amazing time. Since we last saw them, each of our families has grown by one. So, we got a chance to meet Mazie and they got a chance to meet Daniel. Cameron and Britten picked up right where they left off, as did Gail and I. Somehow, the entire day flew by in the blink of an eye. A week later, Cameron is still talking about his day at the lake, playing with Britten, fishing with Gavin, and playing Frisbee with Gavin's brothers!
